Palm oil from sustainable sources
Palm oil is a necessary raw material of which the technical properties provide safe quality products expected by our customers and consumers. Vegetable based palm oil is cholesterol free, contains no trans fats or any other type of animal derivative. Since palm oil ingredients are naturally semi-solid at room temperature, they are also hydrogenation free.
As an important player in the bakery, patisserie and pasta sector, Wellside is conscious of its responsibilities in the use of palm oil. The company wants to contribute to palm sustainability in an active way and fully in line with its values vision and ethics, it does this through the following commitment:
It is our policy to avoid the use of unsustainable and untraceable palm oil. Wellside company policy is to only use certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO) accredited by RSPO (Rountable on Sustainable Palm Oil).

The RSPO are a not-for-profit organisation that unites stakeholders from the seven sectors of the palm oil industry: oil palm producers, processors or traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks/investors, and environmental and social non-governmental organisations (NGOs), to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.
Innovative food of 2016
Developing the recipe and production technology for Wellside pure pasta took several years. After the market launch, our vegan pasta with protein was awarded the title of Innovative Food of 2016 by the Slovenian Nutrition Institute.
International food standard

The International Food Standard (IFS) is the strictest standard in the European food industry; compared to the legislation, the IFS imposes much higher requirements on the producers. Designed within the European food industry, the standard affects every process in the production plant.
Every year, international evaluators make the conditions stricter. We have held IFS certification since 2006 and have consistently ranked in the highest category since 2010.
