Wellside Foods Supports Exeter University’s Chill Hill Accessible Snow Sport Event

We’re always enthusiastic about maintaining health and promoting exercise throughout the UK, and with Exeter University recently contacting us in the hopes of sponsorship for their Chill Hill event, we couldn’t resist!

Chill Hill Snow Sport Event Exeter University 2024

What is Chill Hill?

Chill Hill is an extraordinary sports event that promises to turn Forum Hill at Exeter University into a ski slope for the day with 50 tonnes of snow on 17th February! With a goal of raising £5,000 for our partnered charity DSUK which promotes accessibility for sport in the UK.
Picture a festival atmosphere where Forum Hill (Stocker Road) becomes the stage for an adaptive skiing exposition and adrenaline-pumping freestyle competition with students and professionals alike. Sledging down the hills brings laughter and thrills, accessible to all abilities.

At Chill Hill, everyone is welcome, and the festive vibe is amplified by live DJs, tempting food and drink stalls, and a marketplace featuring snow sports-related items from huge brands.

Check out the Chill Hill 2017 after-movie below. Our goal is to take the immense success that 2017 Chill Hill was and multiply it tenfold through the huge partnerships we have in place with Redbull, Faction and Dope Snow as well as many treasured local brands.

The Chill Hill event is expected to benefit many students, encompassing both participants and organisers. The maximum event capacity is estimated at approximately 2000 attendees, representing approximately 10% of the entire student body.

What has Wellside Foods done to support the event?

With a range of flavours available, our goal is to raise awareness of convenient and nutritious ways to stay hydrated during events, and maximise recovery post-events too.As keen snow sports participants, we wanted to be able to provide a brand new snowboard to the winner so that it gives access to more young people looking to take up these amazing pastimes.

Our three prizes offered to the top three competitors are:

Benefits to local to international businesses

The event is designed not only as an internal university event but also as a means to establish strong ties with the local community in Devon and Cornwall. The project creates links through various initiatives:

Business participation

The student organisers are actively engaging with numerous brands and organisations, inviting them to showcase their unique offerings at Chill Hill. Companies such as Timepiece, Hijacked, Soul Pizza, and Oh Crepe will have the opportunity to vend on-site.

The collaboration with Redbull adds an international dimension to the event, garnering attention on a global scale.

Partnership Promotion with Clifton Dry Slope:

They are also leveraging this event to highlight their partnership with Clifton Dry Slope in Exeter. Their invaluable support in coaching their race team and aiding in the establishment of the UK’s first University Adaptability Ski Team deserves recognition. By promoting their association with Clifton Dry Slope, they aim to extend the reach of skiing in Exeter and reinforce the importance of local partnerships in fostering sporting initiatives.
